Petr Stokuč

Managing Director

Petr is an experienced Managing Director and a majority owner of OCTOPUS Newsroom. He defines and manages corporate strategic vision as well as day-to-day leadership of the company. As a former Head of IT at TV Nova Czech and a Freelancer, he has more than 15 years of experience in the broadcast media industry with a clear view on how the newsroom should be managed. Petr holds BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from Czech Technical University in Prague.

Jan Půlpán

Director - Sales & Engineering

Jan is a co-founder of OCTOPUS Newsroom and Director of Sales & Engineering. In these capacities, he is responsible for all overseas business strategies, technology partners and product management. Jan began his career in the broadcast media industry immediately after obtaining his degree in Communication Engineering. Before floating OCTOPUS Newsroom, Jan was responsible for maintaining newsroom system at TV Nova Czech. All together, he has more than 15 years of broadcasting experience.

Andrew Davis

Technical Support Manager

Andrew has been OCTOPUS Newsroom's Customer Support Manager since 2008. He manages a team of engineers who provide 24/7 x 365 user and technical support. He coordinates all installations and training for journalists and technical staff. In the past, Andrew held several management positions in the broadcast media industry, most recently as a Helpdesk Supervisor in BBC. He has BMS degree in Management Studies from University of Waikato.

Gabriel Jankó

Senior Sales Manager

Gabriel joined OCTOPUS Newsroom as a Project Manager in March 2007 after finishing his master degree in IT management and Marketing at the University of Economics in Prague. Since then he has developed business with many key customers such as TA3 in Slovakia, MountainWest Sports Network in the USA and Kanal2 in Estonia. In his current role he is responsible for all business development and strategies in Europe including Russia and partly in the United States.

Simona Luczyová

Office Manager

Simona has been Office Manager of OCTOPUS Newsroom since 1999. She organises and supervises all administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of OCTOPUS Newsroom company. This includes for example design and implementation of office policies, financial management, support contracts, logistics, meeting organisation etc. Simona is known for her exceptional organisational skills and for her friendly working manner.

Milan Varga

Deputy Support Manager

Milan joined OCTOPUS Newsroom in January 2009 after finishing his master degree in Mathematical Simulation and Informatics. As a Deputy Support Manager of OCTOPUS Newsroom, Milan is responsible for entire 24/7 customer support, product installations and OCTOPUS6 training. He is known for excellent analysis and clarification of customer queries as well as for his jolly personality.

Ermias Amare

Support Engineer

Ermias has been Senior Support Engineer of OCTOPUS Newsroom since November 2007. He deals with all aspects related to the maintenance, repair and support of OCTOPUS Newsroom products to ensure continued functioning of the systems. Ermias is well known for his excellent understanding of the technical fundamentals of support engineering and his willingness to help others.

Jan Halaxa

Support Engineer

Jan started his carreer in customer support immediately after finishing his BSc degree at Charles University in Prague. Since then he has developed his outstanding technical knowledge on several positions, most recently as an Operations Engineer in telecommunications industry in Ireland. All together he has more than 10 years of support experience. Jan joined OCTOPUS Newsroom in August 2010 and in his role he is responsible for entire 24/7 customer support.

Martin Nedbal

Senior Developer

Martin has been part of OCTOPUS Newsroom company since 2000. He designs, maintains and develops OCTOPUS6 system to meet our current and potential customers' needs. He has an exquisite knowledge of Linux, Mac OS X, database servers and a number of computer languages such as C/C++ and ObjC.

Ondřej Hurt

Senior Developer – MOS Specialist

As a Senior Developer and OCTOPUS Newsroom MOS Specialist, Ondřej is responsible for OCTOPUS6 integration with third party systems such as graphics, automation and teleprompters. He conducts tests and monitors OCTOPUS6 performance to ensure that the systems operate optimally. Ondřej joined OCTOPUS Newsroom in 2000 after finishing his BSc degree in Informatics at the University of Economics in Prague.

Daniel Kahoun

Senior Developer

Daniel joined OCTOPUS Newsroom in 2001. In his current role, he is responsible for complete OCTOPUS6 developement. He has in-depth knowledge of various relevant computer languages including Java and Delphi. Daniel holds a master degree in Electrical Engineering from Czech Technical University in Prague.
