No matter how fast the search is, or how convenient the script writing, the rundown is the driving force behind on-air success or failure. Rundowns in OCTOPUS6 are designed to be fast, quickly reacting to user changes, supporting collaboration in real time.
Rundowns can be created either without any content or based on predefined templates. Rundown allows faster manipulation of stories; adding a story, changing the order, switch to off-air, skip (float) a story, or of course, removing it during the course of broadcast preparation.
Stories can be managed in the rundown even while another user is editing the content. If the editor needs to take over an open script from another user, he can do so thanks to sophisticated user rights. Editorial status of the story and the MOS status of media is available at a glance. Editors will see all rundown timing columns constantly updated as changes are made.
While on-air, rundown receives feedback from integrated playout systems about current events, allowing recalculation and refining of rundown timings. The on-air timer and backtiming are features that ensure the rundown editor has complete knowledge of the timing situation and whether changes to the rundown will be required to fit the schedule.
OCTOPUS6 Slugs delimiting rundown into blocks may be inserted and assigned scheduled duration. Difference between scheduled duration of the block and the overall real duration of stories in the block is displayed.process.
OCTOPUS6 Rundown buddy is a virtual friend that allows rundown editors to see the current rundown from a different perspective. In other words, it provides a second view on selected stories in rundown. The view of stories can be filtered according to various criteria, unfinished stories and off-air stories are the most obvious candidates. Your Rundown buddy also offers quick presentation of media, text or CGs in one simple view.
