script story orientated workflow
OCTOPUS planning diary lets users schedule stories and collect information as the time flows. With s single glance at the calendar they can see how many stories have been planned for any particular day.

OCTOPUS6 uses visual, double-column scripts for stories. The anchor name and other supers, together with clips, soundbites and other editorial or technical commands are easily entered on the left column of the script. Text for presenters and voiceovers is typed in the column on the right.

Story templates are available to users for a quick story creation and accelerating the start of story production. OCTOPUS scripts combine all elements (presenter/voiceover/package...) of the story in one script.

Text is automatically checked for spelling errors as you type and misspelled words are marked. OCTOPUS6 will also provide hints for correction. Similarly, the management can define blacklisted words that are not supposed to be used on-air.

OCTOPUS's unique text formatting lets users format text on the prompter and keep track of the real story duration in comparison to the scheduled duration. Every user can simply set up their individual reading speed.

Story orientated workflow in OCTOPUS6 enables reporters to work on a story regardless the output. Journalist can create a story for rundown and publish related posts on twitter, youtube or facebook all on one screen.

Journalists can use OCTOPUS chat anytime they need to discuss something with each other. In case one of the users can't be reached via the OCTOPUS chat because they are no longer logged in, our SMS module can be used instead.

When working on a story, there is an autosave feature available for users peace of mind. Afterwards, users can preview the script in two different ways – horizontally and vertically in a split-screen mode. Rundown editors will love this innovative feature – visual highlighting of differences between any saved versions of the script, allowing them to quickly revert content if necessary.

The script contains all commands for connected technologies and systems, both MOS objects and other technical information. The OCTOPUS6 script has media insight allowing media to be added in almost no time. Users can either simply start typing the name of the clip and OCTOPUS will search its media database for matching items or they can browse all available media in the database. OCTOPUS6 offers lowres media preview for easy selection. Users can comfortably type the script while watching related video on the same desktop.
