The Austrian channel PULS4 decided to upgrade its current version OCTOPUS5 to the latest version OCTOPUS6 to make their newsroom operations even more efficient. The upgrade process has already started and the planned on-air is around IBC2009. OCTOPUS5 brought a convenient bunch of features as well as a solid workflow for journalists preparing daily news, however, OCTOPUS6 promises even greater control over incoming wires, preparation of rundowns, scheduling and work efficiency. OCTOPUS6 will run on Linux servers and the client machines will run on Mac computers, which is possible due to the platform independence of OCTOPUS6. This set-up is prepared to serve 25 concurrent users. Harris Nexio and Autoscript telepromters will be connected to OCTOPUS6 using the industry standard MOS protocol.
