OCTOPUS Newsroom wins the tender for TA3 in Slovakia

logo_ta3OCTOPUS Newsroom has won the tender for Slovakian 24/7 news channel TA3 and OCTOPUS6 Newsroom Computer System has been chosen to drive their newsroom for preparation and handling of everyday newscast. TA3 is a Slovak nationwide 24/7 news channel broadcasting since 2001. TA3 offers a daily newscast covering international and domestic news; this allows viewers to catch the latest news throughout the day. TA3 broadcasts to the majority of Slovakia and the Czech Republic. OCTOPUS6 is supposed to serve up to 50 concurrent users and will be integrated with Avid Newscutter, Avid Countdown and Vizrt Content Pilot. OCTOPUS6 is offering increased functionality, user-friendly features and mainly a platform independence which enables clients running on MacOS X, Linux and Windows. In addition to the platform independence, OCTOPUS6 is selected by TV stations for a number of innovative new features which help to create news even more quickly and conveniently.

PULS4 upgrades to OCTOPUS6

puls4The Austrian channel PULS4 decided to upgrade its current version OCTOPUS5 to the latest version OCTOPUS6 to make their newsroom operations even more efficient. The upgrade process has already started and the planned on-air is around IBC2009. OCTOPUS5 brought a convenient bunch of features as well as a solid workflow for journalists preparing daily news, however, OCTOPUS6 promises even greater control over incoming wires, preparation of rundowns, scheduling and work efficiency. OCTOPUS6 will run on Linux servers and the client machines will run on Mac computers, which is possible due to the platform independence of OCTOPUS6. This set-up is prepared to serve 25 concurrent users. Harris Nexio and Autoscript telepromters will be connected to OCTOPUS6 using the industry standard MOS protocol.

ECONOMICO TV channel picks OCTOPUS6

OCTOPUS Newsroom announced that the Portuguese channel Economico TV has decided to drive their newsroom with the latest NCS system from OCTOPUS. Economico TV will be broadcasting 24/7 economic news using OCTOPUS6. The station is based in Lisbon and is the first broadcaster in Portugal to use OCTOPUS. B4M automation, Infostudio graphics and Autoscript telempromters are integrated with OCTOPUS6 using the industry standard MOS protocol. This is the first time Infostudio graphics from GoTV has been integrated with OCTOPUS; thus GoTV is extending the number of OCTOPUS Newsroom's partners. Apart from 15 concurrent user licenses, Economico.TV will take 2 OCTOPUS6 FCP plug-in licenses. The on-air time is planned for the end of September 2009.

Two new Indian channels go for OCTOPUS6

Polimer and P7News channels have chosen OCTOPUS6, the latest version of the OCTOPUS Newsroom Computer System, to drive their newsrooms in India. Polimer is a 24/7 news channel located in Chennai and it is the first channel in India which is using OCTOPUS6. The system is integrated with Aveco automation, Vizrt Trio and Autoscript teleprompters. OCTOPUS6 is set up to serve 10 concurrent users in Polimer. P7News is another new channel based in Noida, which provides news and entertainment in Hindi for viewers in India and internationally. 25 concurrent users are able to prepare newscast simultaneously. These two new Indian channels increases the number of channels using OCTOPUS Newsroom Computer system in India to 29.

OCTOPUS6 NLE plug-in for INCITE

OCTOPUS Newsroom introduces the second OCTOPUS6 plug-in for nonlinear editors - OCTOPUS NLE plug-in for INCITE. The new plug-in is based on the previous plug-in for Apple Final Cut editor and this way OCTOPUS increases the versatility of its OCTOPUS6 plug-in for NLEs. Incite this way also extends the number of OCTOPUS Newsroom's partners. OCTOPUS NLE plug-in offers advanced features with real flexibility and allows the newsroom to fully integrate Incite into the OCTOPUS workflow. By using the placeholder concept, the whole process from creating the story to on-air playout is simple; all video clips available in OCTOPUS are viewable and searchable within the OCTOPUS6 NLE plug-in.
