OCTOPUS6 Final Cut plug-in

OCTOPUS Newsroom's FCP plug-in, as a part of OCTOPUS6 Newsroom Computer System, offers advanced features with real flexibility. The OCTOPUS6 FCP plug-in for Apple Final Cut Pro is the first of a set of plug-ins for different standalone NLEs. The plug-in allows the newsroom to fully integrate Apple Final Cut into the OCTOPUS workflow. By using the placeholder concept, the whole process from creating the story to on-air playout is simple. All video clips available in OCTOPUS are viewable and searchable within the OCTOPUS6 FCP plug-in. Clip metadata is sent via standard MOS protocol.

While editing the video footage in OCTOPUS6 FCP plug-in users can have full access to OCTOPUS stories and scripts, allowing simultaneous editing of video and text on the one screen. Full read/write access can be granted according to user rights and therefore the script can not only be viewed for recording voiceovers, but also modified if the text needs to be changed or a lower third added.

Reporters can make a simple selection of raw material from any OCTOPUS client machine with the option to browse a low-res copy, and it is also possible to browse the raw footage attached as a story asset in the OCTOPUS6 client.
