Octopus Newsroom Sales Director Gabriel Jankó reports a lively and well-attended NAT EXPO in Moscow. Gabriel visited the event from Wednesday to Friday and met customers and many new faces to showcase the latest version of Octopus. The latest version of Octopus incorporates digital broadcasting trends that will be required by broadcasters in the future.

"Television viewers across Russia are increasingly using smartphones and tablets to access their favourite television and radio channels," Gabriel comments.

"On-Demand-Broadcasting provides viewers with the ability to choose from a selection of live events, news, sports, and electronic gaming on the go and when they want to. You only have to look at the success of Netflix’s and Amazon Prime to see the popularity. Octopus facilitates broadcasters with end-to-end tools required to manage ODB content right up to playout. The Octopus platform is truly unique as it offers both traditional linear and digital production for news, sports, eSports, and live events."

''The sound and video quality on smartphones have improved immensely over the past decade, essentially, replacing the need for expensive, bulky equipment, heavy cameras and sound equipment. Journalists can simply remove their smartphone from their pocket and convert it to a broadcast production system via the Octopus App. Essentially, this allows journalists to capture crucial moments on the go and send the content back to base within minutes'' adds Octopus Head of Marketing Adam Kennedy-Ripon.

Finally, Octopus Newsroom would like to thank everyone for meting up at the NAT Expo, it was a pleasure talking to each of you.
