Octopus Newsroom will demonstrate the latest version of its newsroom computer system at Tecnotelevisión & Radio 2017 in Bogotá, Colombia. Exhibiting on stands 632 and 633, Octopus Newsroom will be represented by Gianluca Bertuzzi (Sales Manager, Africa & LATAM) together with David Fajardo and colleagues from channel partner Aprotech which is one of Colombia’s leading broadcast system integrators.

“Colombia has proved a strong market for us,” Gianluca Bertuzzi comments. “Successful Octopus installations in the region include Claro Group’s RED+ and Global Media’s Cable Noticias 24-hour cable television news channel. We will be showing a complete Octopus 8 system including the latest version 8.1 which offers a raft of new functions and enhancements.

“Easy connectivity with third-party devices has always set Octopus above its competitors. Octopus 8.1 takes that to a higher level. This year we have achieved tighter integration than ever with products from fellow members of the Emmy-award-winning MOS group, including Avid, ChyronHego, Grass Valley, SAM, ToolsOnAir and Vizrt. MOS-standardised metadata exchange between devices allows allow all essential newsroom tasks to be handled from a single workstation. It also enables fast content searching across an entire production network.

“Recently added features include quick story creation, fast rundown editing and tighter social media integration. These generated strong interest when unveiled at the Amsterdam International Broadcasting Convention mid-September and we are confident will be equally appreciated in the LATAM markets.”

Held each year at the Corferias convention center, Tecnotelevisión & Radio (www.tecnotelevision.com) attracts visitors from broadcast professionals across Columbia and other countries of Latin America. The exhibition is open from November 15 through 17 (13:00 to 20:00). Its parallel conference runs from November 14 through 15 (9:00 to 16:00).
