Octopus Newsroom and HighField AI today announced the integration of Octopus 13 with HighField | Cast, bringing AI-assisted graphics creation directly into the newsroom workflow.
The integration enables journalists and producers working in Octopus to turn the stories they are already creating into broadcast-ready graphics – reducing manual production steps and making it easier to bring more visual storytelling to air.
From story to graphics to rundown
HighField | Cast analyzes story content from Octopus NRCS, identifies opportunities for visual storytelling, and helps journalists and producers create graphics using the broadcaster’s approved templates and assets.
Users remain in control, reviewing and refining the results before approval. Once approved, HighField | Cast publishes the graphic back into Octopus NRCS using MOS commands, where it becomes part of the newsroom rundown and follows the existing workflow through to playout.
The result is an integrated path from story to graphics to rundown to air, helping news organizations increase the volume and quality of visual storytelling while reducing manual production work.
Both Octopus Newsroom and HighField AI take an open, vendor-agnostic approach, supporting leading graphics platforms and media asset management systems. This enables broadcasters to introduce AI-assisted graphics creation while continuing to work with their existing graphics engines, templates, assets, and production infrastructure.
