As the only private local news channel, Compass TV bridges the divides in the community and highlights locally relevant matters and community perspectives. It focuses on what’s important to Cayman, and its viewers.
March 31, 2025
After a six-year absence of television news in Cayman, Compass TV launched Daybreak for the first time on Monday March 31, 2025.
Daybreak morning news show is fast-paced and informative, providing insights into events, topics and people making the headlines in the Cayman Islands, alongside entertainment and sports.
In the evening, Compass News focuses on the events of the day, as well as providing in-depth analysis of current affairs, sports and weather.
Every week, Forefront goes beyond the headlines and into the heart of the issues with in-depth conversations on politics and social issues that matter.

Octopus being able to turn around our installation so quickly was pivotal to the success of our launch.

Proven Integrations in Speedy Timeline
Octopus allowed Compass TV to integrate and adapt a newsroom workflow while the studio, control room, and newsroom were being constructed.
- Xpression (graphics) Producers and reporters can create graphics using the Xpression plugins for placement directly into rundowns.
- CueScript (prompter): The Octopus integration with CueScript allows real-time synchronization of scripts to the prompter, including last-second changes and edits.
- Multiple Users – Octopus can create multiple displays and workflows for multiple system users, such as producers, reporters, directors, and graphic and video operators.
Octopus Becomes the Newsroom Solution for Compass TV
After deciding to launch one-month before the Cayman National Elections, Compass TV wanted a fast, easy to learn and easy to implement newsroom system. They choose Octopus for those reasons and for integrations with their Ross control room and CueScript prompting systems.
Octopus is a flexible system that can scale quickly to any size newsroom.
