Showcasing smarter tools, stronger partnerships, and a newsroom built to move with the industry.

IBC 2025 proved to be one of the most dynamic showcases in Octopus Newsroom’s history. With a refreshed brand identity, powerful newsroom innovations, and an expanding partner ecosystem, we arrived in Amsterdam with the theme Newsroom in Motion – and left with new projects, deeper industry collaborations, and the strong confirmation that Octopus continues to shape the future of modern news production.

Showcasing a Living Ecosystem of 100+ Integrations “in Motion”

Ahead of IBC, we announced that our partnering technologies’ ecosystem had surpassed 100 integrations. At the show, visitors were able to see this milestone come alive on the booth, with demonstrations of new and enhanced connections that make Octopus one of the most open and adaptable NRCS platforms on the market.

Partnerships with Softron, Framedrop.ai, Mimir, SPX Graphics, IMC Technologies, Trint, and Farmers’ Wife were in the spotlight, showing how Octopus connects seamlessly with specialist tools for playout, AI-driven production, asset management, transcription, and resource scheduling. At the same time, we reinforced our long-standing collaborations with Grass Valley, Sony, Ross, LiveU, and Vizrt, underlining Octopus’s role as a trusted hub within the wider broadcast technology ecosystem.

The message was clear: broadcasters choosing Octopus NRCS never lock themselves into a closed system – they gain a newsroom foundation that grows and adapts alongside them.

Octopus 12 – Next-Level Newsroom Tools

IBC 2025 gave the stage to demonstrate the newest Octopus 12 features, designed to put flexibility and intelligence directly into the hands of journalists and producers. Live demos drew strong interest across all regions, with highlights including:

  • ShowFlow Designer -  advanced automation handled with Mosart, enabling broadcasters to build and manage logic-driven workflows directly within Octopus.
  • Global Search Redesign with AI -  smarter, faster search across rundowns, scripts, and archives.
  • Context-Aware AI Tools - script assistance that understands the story, now in both Web and Java clients.
  • Prompter View with Configurable Layouts - tailored script displays for each presenter.
  • Dark/Light Mode with OS Auto Option - giving users a personalized experience.
  • Skip Elements and Sub-Elements -  instant live flexibility for on-air adaptation.
  • On-Air & Today Rundown Highlights - quick visibility into priority items.
  • Presenter Visibility and Override in Scripts -  ensuring clarity and control in live production.
  • Under/Over Timer by End Time - helping rundowns stay on track.
  • Channel-Specific CG Templates & Story Template Grouping - keeping outputs consistent while workflows stay flexible.

Global Client Momentum

Beyond product launches, IBC 2025 was a chance to celebrate the broadcasters already embracing Octopus 12 and to welcome new clients joining Octopus Newsroom’s journey. RTL Hungary has successfully completed its upgrade to Octopus 12, while RTL Luxembourg recently went live with the system. A large-scale installation is currently in progress with RTL Germany, and a new project has begun in the Netherlands. In the Baltics, TV3 Latvia continues with ongoing implementations, while across the APAC region, multiple new installations highlight the growing demand for Octopus. Meanwhile, in the United States, leading broadcasters such as TBN, Compass Media, The Blaze, Griffin Media, and Alabama Public TV have all joined the Octopus family. This worldwide momentum underscores why Octopus remains the newsroom system of choice: flexible, scalable, and ready to support the evolving needs of broadcasters everywhere.

A New Identity on Display

IBC 2025 was also the first time the industry fully experienced the new Octopus identity. The refreshed look – contemporary, adaptable, and human-centered – is more than just a visual change. It symbolizes the evolution as a company committed to intuitive, story-centric tools that empower journalists rather than complicate their work. The redesigned booth, buzzing with live demos and conversations, became a physical expression of this identity. Visitors not only saw the new Octopus – but they also experienced it.

Looking Ahead – The Newsroom in Motion

The response at IBC 2025 confirmed what The Octopus team has always believed: Newsrooms thrive when technology adapts to them, not the other way around. From AI that assists rather than replaces, to integrations that keep broadcasters in control, to workflows built around stories, Octopus is shaping a newsroom model that moves with the people who bring news to life.
