We’re Back to NAB 2026 – and We’re Bringing the Newsroom in Motion.
At NAB Show 2026, booth N1451, Octopus Newsroom will showcase Octopus 12, its latest newsroom production system designed for fast-moving, multi-platform environments. Built around a story-centric approach, Octopus 12 connects the entire news production process-from planning to publishing-into one flexible, intuitive workflow.
Under the theme “Newsroom in Motion,” this year’s presentation highlights how Octopus 12 helps broadcasters adapt to constant change without disrupting journalists’ workflows.
A Key Focus
A key focus is on AI. Octopus Newsroom integrates AI directly into many everyday newsroom tasks, supporting journalists while keeping them in control. Contextual AI understands the full story, assisting with headlines, script refinement, and content adaptation, and can be deployed as Local AI to keep sensitive data secure within the broadcaster’s infrastructure. This is complemented by 15+ AI integrations, giving newsrooms the flexibility to connect and use AI tools within their existing workflows.

The Connected Newsroom
The platform also emphasizes the connected newsroom. With more than 100 technology partners, from ingest and automation to graphics, teleprompters, and publishing, Octopus 12 allows broadcasters to build workflows tailored to their needs. Production-ready integration with Sony ELC further enhances control room efficiency through tighter synchronization and faster show preparation.
Latest Features
At its core, Octopus 12 remains story-centric. Scripts, rundowns, assignments, and publishing are all structured around the story, giving clarity to complex production environments. The No-Code Workflow Designer enables teams to adapt processes without developers, while agile rundown management supports rapid editorial decisions during live broadcasts.
To support distributed production, Octopus will also present its revamped Web Client, offering browser-based access to essential tools. With flexible deployment options, on-premises, cloud, or hybrid, Octopus 12 fits seamlessly into any newsroom infrastructure.
“Newsrooms need technology that keeps up with the pace of the story,” says Gabriel Jankó, COO at Octopus Newsroom. “At NAB, we’re showing how Octopus 12 keeps everything in motion-connecting people, workflows, and technology around the story.”
