In the dynamic world of broadcast and media technology, few names stand out as prominently as Octopus Newsroom. As we celebrate our company’s 25th anniversary, we reflect on our humble beginnings, groundbreaking milestones, and relentless pursuit of innovation, shaping how newsrooms operate worldwide.
The Journey of Octopus Newsroom
Our story began in 1999 with a small, dedicated team of visionaries with Petr Stokuč, our current CEO in the lead, who shared a common goal: revolutionizing newsroom workflows. At a time when traditional methods of news gathering and production were still prevalent, Octopus Newsroom dared to imagine a future where technology would streamline these processes, making them more efficient and adaptable.
Founded in Prague, Czech Republic, our company started with a modest software solution designed to help newsrooms manage their content more effectively. The early years were marked by challenges typical of any startup- fierce competition and the need to prove the value of our innovative approach. However, the passion and perseverance of the Octopus team quickly set us apart from the rest which we can proudly prove with our list of exciting international clients and partners.

Opening Overseas Branches:
During the 2010s, our branches in Thailand and the USA were opened to serve Asian-Pacific and North and South American markets.
Introduction of Collaborative Tools:
In response to newsrooms’ evolving needs, Octopus introduced innovative, collaborative tools that enabled journalists and producers to work together seamlessly, even when geographically dispersed. This innovation proved invaluable, especially during breaking news and crisis coverage.
