Octopus Newsroom at Broadcast India 2026

Mumbai, October 2026

Last week, our team joined industry professionals, customers, and partners at A.B.I.S. 2026, where conversations about innovation, collaboration, and the future of broadcasting took center stage.

Our booth welcomed a steady stream of visitors eager to discover Octopus 13, our next-generation newsroom computer system. We were delighted to demonstrate our latest capabilities, answer questions, and exchange ideas with everyone who stopped by. The strong interest in our solutions and the many inspiring conversations made the event a valuable opportunity to connect with the broadcast community.

Powering AI with Broadcast Broadband Convergence

One of the highlights of the conference was the panel discussion, “Powering AI with Broadcast Broadband Convergence,” featuring Miro Rusko, Managing Director APAC at Octopus Newsroom.

Miro joined industry experts Rajat Nigam (JioStar), Manoj Padmanabhan (AWS), Rishi Bal (BharatGen Technology Foundation), CK Jain (Prasar Bharati), and Hemant Mallapur (Sampige Semiconductors). The session was chaired and moderated by Shri Sunil, President (E), Broadcast Engineering Society, and Chairman of the Engineering Council of India.

The discussion explored how artificial intelligence and the convergence of broadcast and broadband technologies are shaping the next generation of media delivery.

AI-powered workflows are transforming how news is created, managed, stored, and distributed across the globe. As broadcasters integrate AI into scalable production environments, they are opening new possibilities for faster workflows, more efficient operations, and increasingly personalized content experiences.

At the same time, combining the reliability of traditional broadcasting with the flexibility of broadband and robust cloud infrastructure is creating new opportunities for media organizations to reach audiences in innovative ways.

These developments are redefining the broadcasting landscape and accelerating the industry’s transition into the AI era.

Recent developments in India also highlight the importance of responsible AI adoption in newsrooms. India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has advised television channels to keep AI in an assistive role in news broadcasts, emphasizing the importance of accuracy, authenticity, and editorial responsibility. At Octopus Newsroom, we see AI as an opportunity to support journalists, streamline repetitive tasks, and improve newsroom efficiency, while keeping editorial decisions and control in human hands. The goal is not to replace journalistic expertise, but to empower newsroom teams with tools that help them work smarter, respond faster, and focus on creating high-quality news content.

Shaping the Future of Broadcasting Together

At Octopus Newsroom, we believe the future of broadcasting is built through collaboration, shared expertise, and a willingness to explore new possibilities. A.B.I.S. 2026 provided an excellent platform to exchange perspectives, strengthen relationships, and discuss how technology can help broadcasters meet the evolving demands of modern news production.

We would like to thank the event organizers, our fellow panelists, and everyone who visited our booth or joined the discussion. We appreciate your interest, insights, and enthusiasm.

The future of Indian broadcasting is full of possibilities, and we are proud to be part of the journey.
