Privacy-relevant permissions requested by the Octopus Newsroom’s mobile applications
Used for permissions that are associated with accessing the camera or capturing images/video from the device. This permission allows the application to capture the images/videos by the user. The resulting files are stored in the device and can be sent to an Octopus Newsroom server.
Used for permissions that are associated with accessing the microphone and capturing audio using the device microphone. This permission allows the application to capture audio when the user launches a recording. The resulting files are stored in the device and can be sent to an Octopus Newsroom server.
We would love it if you share your location with us. The best way is to share even when the app is closed or not in use. We will use this data to contact you with news requests from your current area. If you decide to not share the location with us, it’s fine but you will only get the global news requests that are not location focused. By sharing your location, the user allows Octopus Newsroom to contact the user in a targeted manner by means of a push notification. Location data is not stored publicly anywhere and is deleted periodically to comply with the GDPR. The user has the option not to share their location data at any time.
If you want to share some videos you recorded previously with us, we need you to allow the app access to your media library in order to select them. This permission will allow the mobile app to access the media library data on your device. Only selected files are then sent to the Octopus Newsroom Server.
3rd Party Data Privacy
Octopus Newsroom s.r.o. never share any of your data with a 3rd party. The data you share via one of the Octopus Newsroom’s applications are stored on the server and shared with the intended Application users only.
We honor the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
