This year is special. Octopus Newsroom will unveil the latest newsroom production system that raises new horizons for the future of broadcasting. Modernizing newsroom with innovative yet proven solutions.

Octopus are excited to unveil the innovative Octopus iReporter app which will be demonstrated at our booth. The new app allows newsrooms to directly engage their viewers, who can capture unfolding events from the source — the app converts your viewers into potential reporters. The app is equipped with an interactive geo-map to locate people near a breaking event. The Octopus team will also showcase the next-generation of newsroom planning tools and real-time collaboration that allows teams to contribute from anywhere to anywhere. Octopus expands viewer engagement with Social Media integration and quick publication on major CMS’s.

Octopus will demo an enhanced assignment desk which can also be used for resource management, tracking and monitoring expenses. The assignment desk allows multiple views, including a calendar and agenda view. Users can also create custom fields within the assignment desk to fit their preferred workflow style. For broadcasters using legacy NRCS, switching to Octopus is much easier than you might think with minimal impact. Better yet, Octopus supports both Linear and digital broadcasting and extends beyond newsroom production to also fully support eSports, Sports, WebTV and Live Events. Octopus is currently used by the world’s largest eSports broadcaster worldwide, with significant success.

“Octopus reduces wasted time by facilitating improved sharing options,” says Gene Sudduth, National Sales Director for North America“Content and resources can be shared in real-time between multiple teams working on the same topic and from different platforms. This has made it a highly popular solution for sports, eSports, live events and WebTV as well as traditional news programming.

“Journalists really appreciate the ability to create content remotely from the field on any device,” adds Gianluca Bertuzzi, Sales Manager, Latin America & Africa“This gives them the freedom to work directly from remote locations, share media assets, access wires and rundowns, and create stories for fast delivery back to base.”
